Gavin has won the Classical Music category of the 2023 South Bank Sky Arts Award for his ‘monumental work’ Concerto Grosso for Brass Band and Orchestra.This follows on from his previous Royal Philharmonic Award earlier this year.
The ceremony, which took place at the Savoy, was hosted by Melvyn Bragg and the award itself was designed by artist Grayson Perry. Other winners include the Royal Ballet, English National Opera’s production of The Rhinegold, TV drama Happy Valley, and pop artist Raye. The full ceremony can be watched on the Sky Arts channel.
