A new piece for solo horn commissioned by BBC Radio 3 as part of their ‘Postcards from Composers’ scheme was premiered on Friday 19th June.

The piece, written for Tim Thorpe – principal horn of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales – takes it’s title from the Albert Camus novel, ‘The Plague’ and, in Higgins’ words, is ‘part reflection, part fanfare’.
